Ryan Tanselle?

Judge Ryan W. Tanselle is the Judge of Hendricks Superior Court 3 and has been the Judge since November 1, 2022 after his appointment by Governor Eric Holcomb. Judge Tanselle, as Judge of the juvenile court in Hendricks County, is working to ensure that the children and parents in his court have timely and better case outcomes. Judge Tanselle is also working to improve the lives of children in Hendricks County through efforts to expand the Youth Assistance Program. He serves on the Juvenile Benchbook Committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana.

Prior to becoming Judge, Judge Tanselle was an attorney with a significant portion of his practice in Hendricks Superior Court 3 representing parents and children alike. Additionally, Judge Tanselle gained invaluable experience as in-house counsel and compliance officer for State Bank. He graduated from Tri-West High School, Indiana University for his bachelor’s degree, and Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis for his law degree.

Since his time as an Eagle Scout, Judge Tanselle has served Hendricks County. He was a Director of the Hendricks County Community Foundation from 2016 to 2023, including Board Chair from 2021 to 2022. He was also a member of the Hendricks County Public Defender Board and the Brownsburg Public Library Board, in addition to serving in other community-focused roles. He is married, has two children, and resides in Brownsburg.
